Winters are that time of the year when you have to take utmost care of your skin. Winters can take a toll on your skin and it is our responsibility to keep our skin well hydrated because flaky, dry or irritated skin tends to be the norm every winters.
We must religiously follow the CTM routine which is cleansing, toning and moisturizing to keep your skin, healthy and hydrated. Also, use of facial oils is important as it can absorb in your skin, keeping your skin away from dry patches. Always wear a SPF 50 sunscreen, even if you’re indoors. Lip balm is a must during the winter season. Exfoliate your lips with a lip scrub once every week. For example, you can mix brown sugar and honey and apply as a lip scrub which is affordable method you can use at home. Do not neglect your cuticles- For example: Bath and Body Works Hand and Feet cream. We usually forget to consume during winters, therefore, skin also feels dehydrated. Drink lots of water, atleast 2-3 litres a day. Go for weekly body and hair massage with coconut or olive oil.
Brands that you must include in your winter skincare are : Clinique, Perenne, Burt’s Bees, Vaseline and Cetaphil.
If you have time during your prep and prime, try to use under eye creams or serums. Under eye skin is very sensitive and is thin as compared to the skin all over the face. If your skin is very dry, opt for creamy emollient products and lightly set it with powder. Try using liquid foundations so that the skin does not look dry or flaky. Always use a setting spray after your makeup is done to keep that extra hydration on your skin. My recommendation would be to opt for MAC Prep+Prime fixing spray or Urban Decay Quick Fix.
Don’t neglect your skin during winters. Protect your skin by applying body cream and improve the health and appearance of your skin. Avoid hot water baths as it can dry your skin. Opt for lukewarm baths. With the changing weather, your skin needs extra pampering. Make your skin feel hydrated and fresh.
